Staff Compliment
We have a staff compliment of 14 members which consists of one (1) Director, eight (8) Social Workers, three (3) Social Auxiliary Workers, one (1) Human Resources/General Accounting Administrator and two (2) General Workers. From time to time, our organisation also accommodates student social workers and social auxiliary workers who are placed by various institutions, for practical work.
Board of Management
In line with our Constitution, we have a diverse representation in our Board of Management which consists of eight (8) members i.e. Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and four additional members). Their main responsibility among others is to ensure the strategic direction of the organisation including governance.
a Short History
Child Welfare SA, Kempton Park is a Non-Profit Organisation which is registered in terms of the NPO Act 71 of 1997. It was established on 11 March 1966, by the Mayoress of Kempton Park, Mrs Stegman.
Mrs Stegman became aware of the urgent need for welfare services to interdenominational children and families in Kempton Park and surrounding areas.
The Child and Family Welfare Organisation was officially affiliated to SA National Council for Child and Family Welfare on 1 November 1968, which is currently known as Child Welfare South Africa.
